Top three fantasy basketball sell-high trade targets for NBA Week 6

Thanksgiving rounds the horizon in the midst of another intriguing, dramatic season of the NBA. The Houston Rockets (12-6) have quietly crept up to the third seed in the West on the back of stellar defensive play and exceptional depth. The third seed in the East, the Orlando Magic (11-7), have held on without Paolo Banchero. We’ll see whether these two young teams can keep it moving along.

Unfortunately, there are also teams trending in the opposite direction. The storied 76ers’ struggles this season have been inescapable. In fact, they only have one more win than the 2-13 Wizards. There’s still time to turn it around; after all, they’re only four wins removed from the 8th seed in the East. At least they have Jared McCain.

We’re shooting the Three Lists of Threes today for your weekly dose of fantasy tips: Buy-lows, sell-highs, and streams.

Here are some sell-highs we can consider.

Sell ’em

Tyler Herro, SG, Miami Heat

Herro has been a flamethrower so far this season, averaging 23.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and 5.1 APG. He’s shooting a career-high 46.9% from the field and 42.6% from three. He’s taking a career-high 9.7 threes per game and also playing a career-high 34.4 minutes per game. He’s also cashing in a career-high 52.3% from two-point distance. He’s been stellar.

Herro may continue to be stellar. He’s only 25 so his growth thus far isn’t necessarily just a hot streak. He’ll still likely cool off a bit but I’m interested in seeing what I can buy with him. As a sidenote, it’s lucky he’s been playing this well to drag the Heat to a 7-7 record amidst Jimmy Butler’s inconsistent time on the court and Bam Adebayo’s struggles.

Cam Johnson, SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets

There aren’t many players hotter in the Association than Cam Johnson in the past week, during which he’s averaged 29 PPG with six triples a game. Suffice to say Cam Johnson is not this caliber of player; nobody is. His shooting is through the roof and he’s bound to cool off soon.

After the blockbuster deal that sent Mikal Bridges to the Knicks, more shots became available. Johnson has taken full advantage of the opportunity with a career-high 33.6 minutes per game and 12.9 field goal attempts per game. He’s also putting up 19.1 PPG, the highest of his career as well.

Brook Lopez, C, Milwaukee Bucks

Brook Lopez just refuses to fall off. He’s 36 years old and is putting forth another All-Defense campaign with 2.3 blocks per game and 1.4 steals per game. At this point, his value lies strictly in his defensive contributions and not his scoring.

I’d be more than willing to offload Lopez for a good return in other categories. It’s tough to count on defensive contributions even if they’re as plentiful as Lopez’s has been thus far. The older he gets, the less likely he’ll be able to maintain strong fantasy value.
