The Mavericks started their weekend with a big win in Denver on Friday night without Luka Doncic (wrist), but they fell short on Sunday in Miami in overtime. They’ll continue their road trip with a stop in Atlanta on Monday to finish their back-to-back by taking on the Hawks in what should be a high-scoring game. The Mavs will remain without Doncic for a third straight game and could also be without Kyrie Irving ($9,700), who was added to the injury report as questionable due to illness. Quentin Grimes ($4,500), who had been starting in place of Doncic, was also added as doubtful with an illness. Without those options, the Mavs will have to lean heavily on veteran Spencer Dinwiddie ($3,300), who has the potential to be a great value at just barely more than the minimum salary in DraftKings contests like the NBA $222K Fadeaway [$50K to 1st].

PG Spencer Dinwiddie, Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks, $3,300
Dinwiddie got extra playing time on Sunday, but he didn’t exactly make the most of it. He logged 28 minutes and had 29.75 fantasy points, which seems like a solid total, but then you see the part of the box score that shows he went 1-for-12 from the field and 0-for-9 from long-range. He did make up for that from a fantasy perspective with seven assists, five rebounds, two steals, a block and seven points to produce over 9x value from his salary of just $3,000 on Sunday.
On the season, Dinwiddie has averaged just 17.4 minutes per game and produced 0.66 fantasy points per minute. With Luka and Grimes off the floor, that production rate increases to 0.78 fantasy points per minute.
Before his bad shooting performance on Sunday, he had double-digit points in each of his last two games, finishing with 18.25 fantasy points against the Thunder and 20 fantasy points against the Nuggets.
If Kyrie is ruled out, Dinwiddie and Jaden Hardy ($3,700) would likely get all the work they could handle. Since Hardy has only played a total of 22 minutes in the two games without Luka, it seems that Dinwiddie is ahead of him on the depth chart for now and has a better chance to return value since he produces in so many non-scoring categories.
If he gets as much work as he got last night, he should easily be able to return awesome value at such a low salary in a favorable matchup and game environment.
