The Magic head to Charlotte to start the work week with a matchup against LaMelo Ball ($10,000) and the Hornets. On Monday afternoon, they added Jalen Suggs ($6,500; hamstring) to the injury report as questionable. The starting point guard is still dealing with a hamstring strain that forced him to leave Saturday’s game after just nine minutes. In place of Suggs, Anthony Black ($4,400) started the second half and will be a great value play on Monday night if Suggs is limited or out.

Black played 32 minutes on Saturday while helping to fill in for Suggs. He finished with 11 points, five assists, two steals and 22.25 fantasy points. Black has taken a big step forward this season, and he has produced 0.95 fantasy points per minute over his last 10 games while playing 25.8 minutes per contest. With Suggs off the floor during that stretch, his production increases to 0.99 fantasy points per minute.
The 20-year-old has scored double-digit points in six of those 10 games, averaging 10.5 points, 5.1 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. His best game of that stretch came last Monday when he had 20 points, nine assists and 44.5 fantasy points in a 10-point road win in Phoenix.
Suggs has played every game this season. However, if he’s out or limited Monday, Black will be in a great matchup against the Hornets, who rank in the top-ten in fantasy points against by point guards this season. At just over $4,000, he’s a strong value play regardless of Suggs’ status, but he’ll be an exceptional value play against the Hornets if Suggs is ruled out.
