Here are Jayden Daniels’ current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 218.5 passing yards, o/u 1.5 passing touchdowns and o/u 42.5 rushing yards. Daniels is +130 to score a touchdown, +800 to score 2+ touchdowns, and +750 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Jayden Daniels is having a fantastic rookie year and is still the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. However, ever since his rib injury against the Panthers, he has not quite been the same. There has been a lot of speculation about how healthy Daniels is because his production both running and throwing the football has decreased in recent weeks.
Daniels actually had a heroic performance against the Bears the week after his injury that was capped off by his incredible Hail Mary. However, in the three games since then, Daniel is averaging just around 19 rushing yards per game, 200 passing yards per game and one passing touchdown per game. Until Daniels has a performance where he looks closer to what he did at the beginning of the year, it’s hard to trust him to clear any of his props.
My favorite bet on Daniels in this game is for him to go under 1.5 passing touchdowns. It’s not just in recent weeks but all season that Daniels has not been very reliable throwing touchdown passes. In 11 career starts, he has four games with zero touchdown passes, four games with one touchdown pass and three games with two touchdown passes. Daniels has never had three or more passing touchdowns in a game and has gone u1.5 passing TDs in 8 of 11 career games.
The Commanders have a great running game and choose to hand the ball off or let Daniels run when they get close to the end zone. That should be even more of a strategy against a Cowboys defense that ranks 32nd in EPA/rush. Even last week when the Texans dominated the Cowboys, C.J. Stroud didn’t throw a touchdown pass because they were effortlessly feeding Joe Mixon on the ground. This should be a run-heavy game from the Commanders and Daniels will throw less than two passing touchdowns.
