Guard
Stud
Jaden Ivey, Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors ($6,800) – Cade Cunningham is doubtful for this one, so Jaden Ivey should elevate to top dog status. With Cunningham off the court this season, Ivey has seen a 6.72 percent usage rate bump to 33.78 percent. The game environment should be a good one as well, as the Raptors play at the seventh-fastest pace and are 25th in defensive efficiency.
Other Options – Kyrie Irving ($9,700), Trae Young ($9,200), Jalen Brunson ($8,800), Brandon Ingram ($8,700), Scottie Barnes ($8,500), Jamal Murray ($8,400), Jaylen Brown ($8,200), Shaedon Sharpe ($6,200), Anfernee Simons ($6,100)
Value
Quentin Grimes, Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks ($4,500) โ Over the last two games, Quentin Grimes has played 23 and 29 minutes, finishing with 28.5 and 29.5 FPTS. Luka Doncic did not play in those contests and he’s out for this one, so Grimes should get another start. Atlanta is playing at the fastest pace in the league and is 20th in defensive efficiency. This game has a robust total of 237, so there should be plenty of opportunities for fantasy goodies.
Other Options – Christian Braun ($5,700), Malik Beasley ($5,400), Payton Pritchard ($5,100), T.J. McConnell ($5,000), Anthony Black ($4,400), Luke Kennard ($3,800)
Forward
Stud
Franz Wagner, Orlando Magic at Charlotte Hornets ($9,600) โ With Paolo Banchero out, Wagner has taken the alpha role, put it on his shoulders and strutted around throughout the NBA landscape. The usage rate has been over 30 percent, and he’s scored over 30 points in five of the last seven games. He hasn’t just been scoring, but he’s been rebounding, dishing out dimes and getting his pilfer on. As a result, he’s exceeded 50 FPTS in five of the last seven games with a high of 71.
Other Options – Jayson Tatum ($10,200), Brandon Ingram ($8,700), RJ Barrett ($8,700), Scottie Barnes ($8,500), Jalen Johnson ($8,300), Jaylen Brown ($8,200), Jaren Jackson Jr. ($7,900), Josh Hart ($7,300), OG Anunoby ($6,800), Bennedict Mathurin ($6,500), Trey Murphy III ($6,400)
Value
Robert Williams, Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies ($4,800) โ There is uncertainty to this situation because we don’t know if Robert Williams play and for how long if he does. That said, Donovan Clingan has been ruled out while Deandre Ayton is doubtful, so there’s a good chance he gets significant playing time. Portland does not have a back-to-back situation. Williams has played at least 24 minutes in three of the six games he’s played. He’s put up at least 24 FPTS four times with a high of 46.3.
Other Options – P.J. Washington ($6,000), Christian Braun ($5,700), Malik Beasley ($5,400), Deni Avdija ($5,300), Naji Marshall ($4,900), Quentin Grimes ($4,500), Luke Kennard ($3,800)
Center
Stud
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets vs. New York Knicks ($12,000) โ Nikola Jokic missed three games due to the birth of his son, but he’s back now. He is the most expensive player on the slate, but he has the highest floor/ceiling combo, making him one of the most bankable players. Jokic has put up at least 60 FPTS in every contest with three over 80 and a high of 92 FPTS.
Other Options – Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,400) if he plays, Jakob Poeltl ($8,000), Ivica Zubac ($7,000), Myles Turner ($6,700)
Value
Moussa Diabate, Charlotte Hornets vs. Orlando Magic ($4,900) โ With Grant Williams joining Mark Williams and Nick Richards on the bench, Moussa Diabate is pretty much guaranteed to play over 30 minutes. He hasn’t been scoring much, but he’s been a beast on the boards. He’s gone for over 20 FPTS in each of the last two contests and has two games with 39 and 43.3 FPTS earlier in the season, so there is upside.
Other Options – Clint Capela ($5,600), Robert Williams ($4,800), Jay Huff ($3,800), Duop Reath ($3,000), Jabari Walker ($3,000)
