C.J. Stroud Over 275+ Passing Yards (+215)
Stroud is coming off another inconsistent effort against a Dallas group that has struggled to get stops all season. It’s been the story of the sophomore season for the reigning Rookie of the Year, who has just been unable to get in a prolonged groove. The arm talent still jumps off the screen, but a substandard offensive line, botched playcalling, and injuries to top weapons have impacted Stroud’s success.
It seems inevitable that Stroud will bounce back in a major way. The 23-year-old torched Tennessee in his only career meeting last December and has dominated lesser competition in the past. Tennessee is in the middle of the pack in EPA against the pass, but matchups against Chicago, New England, and Indianapolis prop up that figure.
With Houston’s run game continuing to be ineffective early in downs, offensive coordinator Bobby Slowek could be more in favor of airing it out against a shaky secondary. Stroud loves to push the rock downfield, and although he’s only hit this line once in six games, I like the matchup and chip on his shoulder to propel him past this mark.
