After a tough loss last week, when Pittsburgh largely bottled him up, Lamar Jackson is desperate to get back in the win column. Baltimore wants to prioritize pounding the rock, which is understandable with Jackson and Derrick Henry in the backfield. Although those guys tend to be matchup-busters, Los Angeles is sixth in EPA per rush, with a front seven that has been utterly dominant over the past month. Even with stellar infrastructure to help bolster the rushing attack, this squad will likely struggle to generate yardage on early downs and have to turn to the air for conversions.
LA also has a talented secondary, but Jackson is talented enough to pick apart any defense with his arm. Baltimore should make it a priority to get the ball out of their superstar’s hands early and out to the perimeter so playmakers can operate in space. In what should be a close contest, Jackson should have the volume to surpass this line somewhat easily.
