Week 12’s Sunday Night Football matchup will be between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams hold playoff aspirations but enter this game with different outlooks.
Philadelphia sits at 8-2 on the season and has been playing its best football as of late. The Eagles enter this game having won six consecutive games and have grabbed full control of the NFC East race. The Eagles have shined on both sides of the ball, ranking seventh in scoring and fifth in yards, while allowing the fewest yards of any team and the sixth least in points allowed.
Los Angeles enters with a 5-5 record but has won four of its last five. The Rams have battled injuries this season with both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua missing time, but have been playing much better football as of late. Overall, they rank 21st in scoring, 17th in yards, 22nd in points allowed, and 23rd in yards given up.
The Eagles enter this game as three-point favorites and -166 on the moneyline. The Rams are considered +140 underdogs on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook with the game total set at 49 points.
Cooper Kupp Prop Bets
DraftKings Sportsbook has Kupp’s props set at o/u 6.5 receptions, 64.5 receiving yards, his longest reception o/u 21.5 yards, and holds +145 odds for an anytime touchdown.
Injuries have become an all-too-familiar issue for Kupp. The former Offensive Player of the Year has been limited to six games this season after missing five games last year and eight the season prior. Across the six games this year, Kupp has 47 receptions for 488 yards and four touchdowns. This comes out to an average of 7.8 receptions and 81.3 receiving yards per game.
Kupp has gone over 6.5 catches in three of the six games he has played. He has recorded over 64.5 receiving yards in four of the six and scored in three separate games this year. The former All-Pro recorded two touchdowns against the Patriots last week.
While Kupp has still flashed his All-Pro ability when he’s been healthy, this is a difficult matchup for the 31-year-old. As a team, Philadelphia has allowed the second-fewest passing yards in the league and fifth-fewest passing touchdowns. Rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell has been wildly impressive and is expected to be Kupp’s primary matchup.
Just last week, Mitchell held Terry McLaurin without a catch in the 20 snaps he lined up against him after he entered the week with 704 receiving yards. He also allowed just one catch for five yards to CeeDee Lamb, two catches for 15 yards to Ja’Marr Chase, one catch for 10 yards to Amari Cooper and two catches for 19 yards to Mike Evans. Mitchell has not allowed more than 25 yards in a game since before the Week 5 bye. Per Next Gen Stats, Mitchell is allowing just .5 yards per coverage snap which is the second-best rate of all corners in the NFL.
Kupp is a savvy and talented pass-catcher, but expect him to struggle in this game. Look for the Rams to move him across the formation and get him out of “Quintanomo Bay.” Philadelphia’s defense has been clicking on all cylinders, so expect this effort to continue tonight.
