It’s a seven-game NBA slate, with fourteen teams playing on Saturday. That includes a marquee nightcap when Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets visit LeBron James and the Lakers. With so many stars taking the floor, there’s plenty of ways to get in on the action with DraftKings Sportsbook, including DraftKings NBA Pick6 selections ahead of tonight’s matchups.
Mikal Bridges over 15.5 points
Even though their defense is surprisingly leaky, the Knicks are 9-6 on the strength of the NBA’s fifth-highest scoring offense (118.3 PPG). Although he’s taken time to get acclimated to his new team, Mikal Bridges is starting to show why New York gave up a haul to acquire him this summer. The two-way wing is putting up 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists on 48.8% shooting from the field.
Over his last five games, Bridges is averaging 18.6 points, thanks in large part to a gigantic workload. Head coach Tom Thibodeau has kept the veteran on the floor for an NBA-leading 38.6 minutes per game. With that kind of volume, the former Nets star has a high fantasy floor. Against a terrible Jazz defense, expect Bridges to flirt with 20 points tonight.
Collin Sexton over 1.5 three pointers made
As previously mentioned, the Knicks are not playing typical Tom Thibodeau defense. So far, New York has allowed a league-average 111.9 points per game, giving up the third-most three-pointers in the NBA (14.5 per game). That’s good news for opposing guards, even for those on the offensively-challenged Jazz.
Collin Sexton has gotten off to a very Collin Sexton-esque start this season. Through fifteen games, the former Cavalier is putting up 15.9 points without doing much else (2.7 rebounds & 2.9 assists). Utah’s top guard has had his best season from deep so far, nailing 42.1% of his three-pointers. He’ll look to carry that shooting momentum into a favorable matchup on Saturday.
Jalen Brunson over 7.5 assists
Even though his scoring has been slightly down, Jalen Brunson is finding new ways to drive New York’s offense. The All-Star has posted a career-best 7.3 assists per game to go along with his 25.4 points, creating a dangerous duo with center Karl-Anthony Towns. The Knicks will get a prime matchup this afternoon when they visit the Jazz, who have given up the fourth-most points (119.3 PPG) and fourth-most assists (28.1 APG) in basketball.
There’s a fear that Utah might not put up much of a fight. The Knicks are currently 8.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. Still, there should be more than enough time for Brunson to get over this total. Over his past four games, JB is averaging 11.5 assists, setting him up to produce a big passing performance once again.
Josh Giddey over 6.5 rebounds
Josh Giddey has never been much of a scorer, but the Australian finds ways to make his mark in other facets of the game. In his first season with the Bulls, the 22-year-old has put up 12.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists through seventeen games. On a Bulls team that struggles to do much other than score, he’s a valuable commodity.
Giddey’s all-around skill should be on full display tonight. Memphis has struggled on the glass all season, giving up the sixth-most rebounds to opponents (53.8 RPG). Over his last seven games against the Grizzlies, Giddey is averaging 8.9 boards. Something close to a double-double could be in the cards tonight.
Brandon Miller over 3.5 three pointers made
While Charlotte’s offense has been dominated by LaMelo Ball, don’t sleep on Brandon Miller. The Alabama product has gotten off to a slow start in his second season, but he appears to be gaining some momentum as of late. The forward has posted 20.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his last five outings.
Miller’s recent scoring surge has included some impressive long-range shooting. On Thursday, he tallied eight three-pointers in an overtime win over the Pistons. While you shouldn’t expect that many long balls on Saturday, there’s no reason to think he can’t hit four treys against a Bucks team giving up the third-most three pointers in the NBA (14.5 per game). Back the young Hornets star against one of the league’s worst perimeter defenses.
Jamal Murray over 20.5 points
Logically, there’s not a ton of support for a big Jamal Murray game tonight. The former NBA champ has struggled this season, averaging just 17.9 points per game on a mediocre 39.7% shooting from the field. Over his past five appearances, the Nuggets star has gone over 20 points just once.
However, there’s something about a date with the Lakers that brings out the best in Murray. In his last ten games against Los Angeles, the Canadian has put up 25.4 points on 45.6% shooting. The return of Nikola Jokic actually helps him, as most of LA’s attention on defense will be on the three-time MVP. Murray hasn’t looked like himself so far, but he’s always been a player that rises to the occasion. In this rivalry matchup, he’s not someone you want to fade.
