The Phoenix Suns have struggled with injuries over the past few weeks, with both star forward Kevin Durant and former All-Star Bradley Beal missing significant time. Now, the Suns may have both players back in the lineup sooner rather than later.
According to head coach Mike Budenholzer, the team is hopeful both Durant and Beal can return to the court next Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Durant suffered a calf strain in a 114-113 win over the Mavericks on November 8. The 37-year-old hasn’t played since.
Durant’s return would be a major boost for the Suns, who have struggled in the superstar’s absence with a 1-6 record since the injury. In his nine healthy appearances this season, Durant was averaging 27.6 PPG, 6.6 REB, and 3.4 AST on elite shooting splits of 55.3% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range.
Beal has also missed time due to a calf strain and hasn’t played since November 12. In his nine games so far, he averages 17.8 PTS, 4.0 REB, and 3.7 AST on 47.5% overall shooting and 38.3% from three.
