Even after missing practice on Thursday and getting a limited session on Wednesday, CeeDee Lamb ($7,300; back/foot) appears to be on track to play this Sunday against the Commanders. Even though the Cowboys’ offense hasn’t been especially potent under Cooper Rush ($5,000) and Trey Lance ($4,500), Rush did throw for 354 yards last week in the loss to the Texans, completing 32 of his 55 pass attempts. Coach Mike McCarthy seems willing to let Rush air it out, meaning there is still upside in the Cowboys’ passing game for Lamb. There could be opportunities for KaVontae Turpin ($3,300) and Luke Schoonmaker ($2,500) to step up this week, too. Let’s take a look:
The latest on CeeDee Lamb
Lamb continues to be a target magnet in the Cowboys’ offense regardless of who is under center. He may not be 100% healthy, but here’s the latest on his status for Sunday:

In each of his last five games, Lamb has double-digit targets, averaging 13 targets a game over that span and totaling 114 receiving yards in two games with Rush at QB. He led the team in catches, targets and receiving yards on Monday night vs. the Texans.
Lamb didn’t get into the end zone in either contest, but part of that was due to the sun factor at AT&T Stadium. He continues to be the team’s top option in the passing game and is a solid WR2 even without Dak Prescott (hamstring) at QB.
Opposing receivers have totaled at least eight catches and at least 100 yards against Washington in four straight games.
The opportunity for KaVontae Turpin
Last week, Turpin finished second on the team with 86 receiving yards. The vast majority of those yards came on a 64-yard touchdown strike just before halftime. On that play, he caught a short slant and then outran everyone.

The third-year receiver from TCU is typically the fastest player on the field, so if the Cowboys can find ways to get the ball in his hands, he is a big play waiting to happen. He already has set career-bests across the board with 20 catches for 267 yards and three scores this season.
He wasn’t targeted in Week 10, but had at least four targets in four straight games prior to that, and a rush attempt in three of those contests.
Turpin could go off for a monster game with just a couple of big plays, so even if Lamb plays, Turpin’s big-play ability keeps him on the radar.
That home run threat should help him earn more playing time compared to Jalen Tolbert ($4,100) and Ryan Flournoy ($3,000), who were the No. 2 and No. 3 WR on Monday. Tolbert only had two catches on five targets for 21 yards last week and hasn’t topped 50 yards since Week 5. Flournoy played more snaps than Tolbert, but only had two targets.
Luke Schoonmaker’s potential value
The Cowboys still expect to be without Jake Ferguson (concussion), leaving Schoonmaker in a strong spot. Schoonmaker hauled in six of his 10 targets last week for 56 yards and 11.6 fantasy points.
He should see plenty of targets and, at such a low salary, he’s a great punt play at tight end or even in a flex spot to free up salary to stuff stars in other spots.
The bottom line
Since it looks like Lamb will play, he is definitely startable in season-long formats, even though he is expensive in DFS contests. On the other extreme of the salary structure, Turpin and Schoonmaker have the potential to be great values if they get enough volume in DFS contests like the NFL $2.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st].
Overall, the Cowboys are 10.5-point road underdogs and Lamb is +170 to score a touchdown, while Schoonmaker is +340 and Turpin is +400.
