Rhamondre Stevenson was excellent earlier this season against the Dolphins. Despite being the “backup” in this game, he rushed 12 times for 89 yards and a touchdown back in Week 5. He draws this matchup again, this time in Miami here in Week 12. Let’s talk about why I’m betting Rhamondre Stevenson scoring a touchdown here in Week 12.

The Dolphins run defense has not been strong this season. When they faced the Patriots earlier this season, the 7.9 YPC allowed was the highest of their season. Stevenson was a monster in that game, even on a limited number of carries. He gained 89 yards on 12 carries and averaged 4.08 yards after contact per attempt. The Dolphins have allowed almost 600 additional rushing yards due to missed tackles this year, which is part of the reason for Stevenson’s success in that game.
Since Drake Maye took over as the QB in Week 6, they’ve thrown the ball 19 times in the red zone compared to running it 28 times. Stevenson has dominated the red zone carries with 31, which is more than triple any of the other running backs. The only real competition for the red zone carries has been Maye, who has 25. Against a beatable Dolphins run defense, I like Stevenson to get into the end zone, especially at plus money.
