NFL Week 12 Start or Sit: Austin Ekeler

NFL Week 12 Start or Sit: Austin Ekeler

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

Even with Brian Robinson Jr. ($5,600) returning from a two-game absence, Ekeler still had a great showing in Week 11 with 17.6 FPTS. The veteran only rushed twice for seven yards, but as a receiver, Ekeler handled a team-high 28.3% target share, saw nine targets and ran a route 59% of his team’s dropbacks, which he turned into eight catches for 89 yards against an Eagles defense that has been the clear No.1 unit in the league this season.

This season, Ekeler has been targeted on a strong 20% of his routes and he is scoring 0.37 FPTS per snap. With Robinson healthy, the back should handle most of the ground work for the Commanders this Sunday vs. the Cowboys, but Ekeler should continue to be very active in the passing game and this is a beautiful matchup, with Dallas giving up the second-most yards per pass this season (7.8).

The Cowboys are allowing the sixth-most receiving yards to running backs (408) and Washington is a -120 favorite to score over 27.5 points on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Ekeler has scored double-digit FPTS in five of the seven games he has played with Robinson Jr. active this season, and Ekeler is a solid FLEX option for season long leagues in Week 12. As for DFS, Ekeler is priced correctly and he is best reserved for GPPs at his current salary.
