NFL Pick ‘Em Pools

These pools are easy to use and allow you to have action for the entire NFL season with just one entry fee. For season-long pools, you will go back to the pool every week and pick five games against the spread. Each correct selection is worth one point and each incorrect selection is worth zero points. For single-week pools, the same rules apply.

I will be giving out my five favorite selections and my leans for every other game on the slate every week of the regular season.

Week 12 Picks

Picks Record: 31-24 (56.3%)

Giants +5.5 vs. Buccaneers- CUTLETS IS BACK! Tommy DeVito will be the starting quarterback for the Giants with Daniel Jones’ tenure in New York seemingly at a permanent end. DeVito is not a good quarterback but this move should not change the Giants’ offense very much. For the past few weeks, Brian Daboll has been calling very conservative games because of his lack of trust in Jones. DeVito’s abilities are limited but Daboll should scheme up ways to get the ball in Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Malik Nabers’ hands as often as possible and let them make plays in space.

Both of these teams are off a bye and that should actually give the Giants a bit of an edge. Baker Mayfield is 1-4 ATS in his career off a bye and Todd Bowles is 9-17 SU on extended rest. Meanwhile, Daboll is a perfect 2-0 SU and ATS off a bye week as the Giants head coach. The Bucs had extra time to prepare but that doesn’t mean much when the Bucs are going to be facing a new quarterback. The Giants have the advantage of the unknown and should be able to keep this game tight against Tampa Bay.

Colts +7.5 vs. Lions- The Colts picked up a great win against the Jets on Sunday. They had lost three games in a row before that but that was against very tough competition in the Vikings, Bills and Texans. The Lions are another tough matchup but the Colts played all of those games pretty close and it seems like their offense has figured something out with Anthony Richardson back at quarterback. The Colts are finally getting healthy on both sides of the ball and could be a dangerous team moving forward.

Indianapolis ranks 11th in the league in defensive EPA/play, and it has been above-average against the run and the pass. The Colts should be able to contain the Lions, to a certain degree, and hang around in this game. Teams like the Lions typically struggle after a massive blowout victory. Since 2015, teams are 23-34-1 ATS after winning by 35+ points the previous week. It is hard to come in motivated after winning by that much and the line gets a bit inflated based on one performance. Richardson is 6-2 ATS in his career as an underdog and should be able to keep this game close with the Colts’ great running game.

Broncos -5.5 vs. Raiders- The Broncos are playing really well at the moment. Their only losses over the last nine games have come to the Ravens, Chiefs and Chargers. They have handled all of the subpar teams that they have faced so far this season and should do so against the Raiders as well. The Raiders don’t have the defense to expose some of the mistakes that Bo Nix can be forced to make. Nix should be able to play the way he wants which is by using his legs, running play-action and hitting his first read.

The Raiders’ offense is in total disarray. They have lost six games in a row and have only scored more than 20 points once during that stretch. The Broncos have the No. 3 defense in the NFL by EPA/play and should be able to completely shut down whatever Vegas wants to do. The Denver offense won’t have to score very much to cover this number. Nix is 5-1 ATS on the road so far in his career and should keep that run going against the Raiders here.

Ravens -2.5 vs. Chargers- The Ravens just suffered a divisional loss to the Steelers and now need to lock in and win games to get back in the divisional race. The Baltimore offense is still the best in the league by EPA/play and their run-pass balance makes them nearly impossible to defend.

Lamar Jackson has been incredible in close games with a record of 25-6 ATS when he is a favorite of a field goal or less, or an underdog. The Ravens also have an elite run defense despite their issues in the secondary. They rank second in the league in defensive EPA/rush and should be able to contain the Chargers rushing attack which has been so good this season. Ultimately, the Ravens need a bounce-back win and their offense should put forward an A+ effort to secure the victory.

Eagles -2.5 vs. Rams- The Eagles are playing some of the best football of anyone in the league at the moment. Their run game is the best in the league by EPA/rush with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley. The deep threat of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith balances out that run game and makes them nearly impossible to defend. The Rams rank 19th in defensive EPA/play and have struggled against the run and the pass this season, so the Eagles should be able to put up points in this game.

The Rams’ offense has certainly been better since the return of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua but the Eagles’ defense has really improved in recent weeks. They have an incredibly young defense that is growing together every single week. Since Week 6, the Eagles have had the best defense in the league by EPA/play. They should be able to slow down the Rams and limit explosive passes. The Eagles are so dangerous because they can win in multiple ways. Their defense and run game can win them a close, lower-scoring game, while their offense is explosive enough to win a shootout if they have to. There are more paths to the Eagles winning this game and covering the short spread so I will back them to get the job done.
