D’Andre Swift ($6,100) will miss Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury, so it’s possible he won’t play this Sunday vs. the Vikings. If Swift is inactive, Roschon Johnson will be the next man up for the Bears’ backfield.
In Chicago’s first game under new OC Thomas Brown this past Sunday vs. the Packers, Johnson saw his largest workload of the season and finished with 11.1 FPTS. The veteran logged a season-high 41.7 percent of the snaps and had 10 carries, compared to Swift’s 14. Johnson out-carried Swift 4-1 in the red zone, one of which resulted in a touchdown for Johnson. Receiving wise, the back saw one target on 12 routes and Swift saw two targets on 18 routes.
The Bears’ coaching staff got Johnson more involved in Week 11, and if Swift now becomes unavailable, Johnson would be in line for 15-20 touches this Sunday. Johnson is scoring a solid 0.32 FPTS per snap this season and while this matchup vs. the Vikings isn’t ideal, with them giving up the second-fewest yards per rush this season (3.6), Johnson will be a strong RB3/FLEX for season-long leagues and a compelling value play for DFS if Swift sits.
