It’s important to look at WR/CB matchups when setting your fantasy football lineups. At times, we have some matchups that we can exploit and receive the best fantasy output in return. I’ll do my best to point out some of the best Week 12 WR/CB matchups to target when making your fantasy or DraftKings lineup.

Week 12 WR/CB Matchup:
Josh Downs (IND) vs. Amik Robertson (DET)
Slot receivers against the Lions have found their success. Regardless of who is covering, they’ve been targeted 110 times and made 74 catches for 757 yards (10.2 YPR) and two touchdowns. Overall, it’s been Robertson who covers the slot at the highest rate. Specifically, he’s allowed 29 catches on 47 targets for 355 yards, and 157 after the catch.
As we saw last week, Anthony Richardson made Michael Pittman Jr his top target, but Downs was the most productive. Downs caught all five of his targets for 84 yards and a touchdown. Pittman, despite eight targets, had five catches for 46 yards. Despite Pittman being the top target-getter last week, Downs has been the more consistent WR1 in this Colts offense. Downs should continue to see ample opportunities this week as +7.5 underdogs to the Lions.
Week 12 WR/CB Matchup:
CeeDee Lamb (DAL) vs. Noah Igbinoghene (WAS)
Speaking of someone who should have PLENTY opportunities this week, the Cowboys are double-digit dogs to the Commanders. Cooper Rush (somehow) threw for 354 yards last week on 32 completions on 55 (!) attempts. 21% of those targets went to Lamb, who made eight catches for 93 yards. With a pass-heavy game script likely to occur once again, Lamb should be in for another heavy target share.
He’ll see a lot of Commanders CB Iginoghene in coverage. He’s been good at limiting the damage, allowing just 7.8 YPR, but that comes with a 66% catch rate. Rush has relied heavily on Lamb, targeting him 22 times over the last two weeks. But this has also come with a downgrade in his downfield abilities. Lamb’s aDOT the last two weeks sits at 6.0 and 7.3. Prior to that, Lamb was averaging 9.6 with Dak Prescott. This is forcing Lamb to do more damage after the catch. In a PPR format, Lamb should be a top option in this game environment.

Week 11 WR/CB Matchup:
DeVonta Smith (PHI) vs. Quentin Lake (LAR)
Lake has been a great defender to target against when facing the Rams. On the season, he’s seen 34 targets, allowing 22 catches for 299 yards (13.6 YPR) and 101 yards after the catch. This is aligned with where he was last year in coverage, allowing a 71% catch rate but only 8.2 YPR. Going against DeVonta Smtih, who has an aDOT of 11.1 on the season, the potential for a big-time catch is in play.
It doesn’t feel like it, but Smith is averaging 6.1 targets per game. The Eagles are passing at the lowest rate in the league, doing so 45% of the time. While it feels like A.J. Brown is getting the majority of the targets, Brown is only averaging 0.7 more than Smith per game. The spread for this game is a tight one, with the Eagles as -2.5 favorites. This could force the Eagles to throw a bit more than usual, which could be a good thing for Smith. In this matchup, where the home run ball is in play, he could pay off big time against Lake.
