Melton was acquired by the Golden State Warriors over the offseason to provide shooting and a versatile defensive presence. He came off the bench and played minutes in the teens to start the season, but then entered the starting lineup later on, playing around 27 minutes. Unfortunately, he sprained his ACL two games ago and hasn’t played since.

On Wednesday, further testing indicated that Melton’s best course of action would be to undergo season-ending surgery. The date hasn’t been determined yet.

The guard was averaging 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists through his six appearances for the Warriors.
