The NBA Cup continues on Tuesday, with plenty of marquee matchups for basketball fans to dig into. This six-game intra-conference slate has a little bit of everything, so you don’t want to miss out. To get in on the action, look no further than DraftKings Sportsbook!
Here are three player props worth betting on tonight:
Darius Garland over 26.5 points + assists (-110)
The Cavaliers are unstoppable right now, reeling off a franchise-record fifteen straight wins to start the year. One of the keys to their success has been Darius Garland. The point guard is averaging 21.4 points and 7.0 assists on 52.5% shooting from the field, driving the league’s highest scoring offense (123.7 PPG). The former All Star’s numbers are even more impressive when accounting for his modest 30.2 minutes per game.
Cleveland’s perfect season will face its biggest test tonight in a primetime matchup with the defending champions. Garland hasn’t always played his best against Boston; he put up just 16.8 points and 6.2 assists over a five-game playoff series between these two teams last spring. However, he’s cleared this points + assists total in five of his last seven regular season matchups with the Celtics. Given how Garland has looked so far, I’m willing to back him on Tuesday.
Zach Collins over 12.5 points (-110)
Victor Wembanyama has been ruled doubtful for Tuesday’s matchup with the Thunder. That should open up plenty of opportunity for the rest of San Antonio’s lineup, especially down low. While his usage has decreased this season, Zach Collins is still one of the better backup centers in basketball. That isn’t reflected in this season’s numbers (6.6 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 2.1 APG), but the former Trail Blazer has only played in less than 15 minutes per game.
Whenever Collins does get the chance to start for the Spurs, he usually delivers. Last year, he posted 16.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in ten games without Wembanyama. When the Frenchman was out against the Mavericks on Saturday, Collins led San Antonio in scoring with 20 points. There’s plenty of precedent that suggests the sharp-shooting big man is a safe play, even against an elite defensive unit like Oklahoma City.
Scotty Pippen Jr. over 19.5 points + assists + rebounds (+100)
The Grizzlies find themselves without the services of Ja Morant once again. However, backup Scotty Pippen Jr. has done an admirable job of filling in, averaging 11.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds in four games as a starter. Those numbers don’t jump off the page, but they do reflect the third-year pro’s all-around game, which gives him one of the better floors for production on Tuesday’s slate.
Memphis will face the Nuggets for the second time in three days, looking to follow up an impressive 105-90 win on Sunday night. Denver’s biggest defensive weakness is on the perimeter, where they’ve given up the most assists to opposing teams (29.9 APG). Even with a limited workload, Pippen Jr. has cleared this P+A+R total in ten of his fourteen games this season. Against a flawed opponent, the pass-first point guard should find plenty of success tonight.
