Week Five of the NBA means we’re in full swing, baby. The Cavs are still undefeated with the Celtics trailing close behind, the Jazz are sitting at the bottom of the West, and Jimmy Butler is taking one of his annual ankle tweak vacations. The NBA cup has kicked off seemingly without much fanfare (how ugly were those 76ers blue courts?) but the games have been good.
We’re shooting the Three Lists of Threes today for your weekly dose of fantasy tips: Buy-lows, sell-highs, and streams.
Here are some streams we can consider.
Stream ’em
Dalton Knecht, SG, Los Angeles Lakers
The 17th overall pick did a stellar job filling in for Rui Hachimura and Cam Reddish on Sunday night, tallying 27 points and seven rebounds on 10/17 shooting with two steals in 37 minutes. He received more minutes than D’Angelo Russell, whose play seems to annoy JJ Redick more and more by the week. Knecht will be an excellent source of points and threes while Hachimura and Reddish are sidelined. He remains an elite perimeter option in the eyes of LeBron James, who thrives with elite shooters waiting on the outside to capitalize on his offensive gravity.
Taurean Prince, SG/SF, Milwaukee Bucks
Prince has also been on the come-up, playing 45 and 35 minutes in his last two games respectively. He’s filling in for Khris Middleton, whose ankles are, at this point, surely to turn to dust any minute now. Prince attempted 30 shots in his last two games combined, cashing in 50% of them en route to seven triples and 38 points in these games. His role on this team is to play defense and take good shots.
Jonathan Isaac, PF, Orlando Magic
Isaac has now played in 10 consecutive games, averaging 7 PPG, 5 RPG with 0.8 SPG and 0.8 BPG. He’s averaging just 16 minutes in these 10 games, but he’s trending in the right direction with his minutes pushing into the mid 20’s in his past two games. As long as Paolo Banchero is sidelined, Isaac will have the opportunity to help out his team on the defensive end. If Isaac can stay healthy and his minutes continue pushing up, he won’t be just a stream. He’s an unreliable defensive wing with monster stock upside.
