DraftKings, your paradise of DFS nirvana, has done it again with a new contest called NBA Starting 5. You select one point guard, one shooting guard, one small forward, one power forward and one center. There is no salary cap. The only stipulation is that you must select players from at least two different teams.
For Tuesday’s Starting 5 slate, there are six games.
No teams played on Monday. CLE, MEM, NO and OKC play on Wednesday.
As for injuries, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Payton Pritchard, Marcus Smart, Tre Mann, Caris LeVert, Sam Merrill and Isaac Okoro are questionable. Victor Wembanyama is doubtful. Nic Claxton, Zach Edey and Isaiah Joe are out. Keep track of all the pertinent injury updates at DK Live.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, there are two double-digit favorite: DAL -10.5 over NOP and LAL -11 over UTA. There is one game within three points: BKN -2.5 over CHA. Two games have a total of at least 230: CLE/BOS (232) and UTA/LAL (230.5). There is no game with a total below 220. There is one home dog: SAS. Log into DK Sportsbook for updated betting lines.

Point Guard
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the smoothest, silkiest bucket-getting assassin in the league right now. He can get his shot up against anyone, break down any defense and score efficiently. With Chet Holmgren out, the usage rate has been close to 40% in two of the last three games. He’s gone for over 50 FPTS in three of the last four games with a high of 77.75. LaMelo Ball is in the conversation as well but I slightly side with SGA.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell has put up over 60 FPTS in each of the last three games. The Cavs are still undefeated and now face the defending champion Celtics. This game has the highest total on the slate and it should have a playoff-like atmosphere.
Small Forward
Jaylen Brown has finished with at least 40 FPTS in all but two games this season. As mentioned in the above Mitchell section, this game should be a competitive affair. The Celtics and Cavs are two of the best defensive teams in the league, but they are No. 1 and 2 in offensive efficiency.
Power Forward
Jayson Tatum is the alpha for the Celtics. He’s gone for at least 50 FPTS in all but four games this season with four over 60. He’s garnering a 31.7 percent usage rate and stuffs the stat sheet, averaging 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks.
Center
Nikola Jokic is still dealing with a personal issue while Victor Wembanyama is doubtful with a knee contustion. When did I get transported to the parallel universe where Anthony Davis is the healthiest option? Davis dominates at both ends of the court and contributes hefty fantasy goodies in every statistical category. The Jazz play fast, don’t care about defense and are banged up in the front court.
