Monday Night Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Fantasy Football Picks for Cowboys vs. Texans

Updated:

By: Jeff Pratt

Week 11 of the NFL season is almost over! Monday Night Football can either make or break your fantasy matchup as the last game of the slate.

Let’s highlight my start/sit fantasy football picks for Cowboys vs. Texans on MNF.

MNF Must-Starts

  • CeeDee Lamb
  • Nico Collins
  • Joe Mixon

Sit ‘Em: Jake Ferguson

Ferguson is arguably the most underrated tight end in the league. That doesn’t matter if the Cowboys can’t get him the ball.

After seeing 18 targets across Weeks 8 and 9, Ferguson received just four against Philadelphia with Cooper Rush under center. The unfortunate reality is, as long as Dak Prescott is sidelined, Ferguson will struggle to produce on a consistent basis. I expect that to remain the case against the Texans, who allow the fewest fantasy points to this position.

Start ‘Em: Tank Dell

Dell was heavily featured in Houston’s last outing from a target share standpoint, but he caught just five of nine balls for 39 yards against a tough Lions secondary. This time around, the matchup becomes a lot easier, as Dallas ranks in the bottom half of the league in passing yards allowed and fantasy points surrendered to receivers.

With Nico Collins back in the equation to dominate defensive attention, Dell should have plenty of room to excel as the No. 2 option for C.J. Stroud. His ceiling is no longer as high, but still fire up the speedster as a WR2.

Sit ‘Em: Rico Dowdle

Unfortunately, when Dak Prescott went down, so did the fantasy value of his teammates. Yes, even the running backs, as you need the passing threat there to establish the ground game.

In reality, the only Cowboy worth starting until proven otherwise is CeeDee Lamb, who needs to be in your lineup for obvious reasons. Dowdle may be the top guy in Dallas’ backfield, but that doesn’t mean he’s a lock for 20 touches. Game script will likely take him out of this contest early, and the Texans are also one of the best teams in the league against the run, allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing backfields.

Those are my start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football picks for Monday Night Football! Stay tuned for more fantasy advice next week.
