Here are Kyren Williams’ current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 84.5 rushing yards, o/u 2.5 receptions and o/u 14.5 receiving yards. Williams is -210 to score a touchdown, +265 to score 2+ touchdowns and +330 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Kyren Williams is third in the NFL in carries and tied for third in rushing touchdowns. However, the Los Angeles offense has looked much different since the return of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. In the three games after the two star receivers returned for the Rams, Matthew Stafford averaged 27.3 pass attempts per game. In the five games prior to that, Stafford averaged 19.6 pass attempts per game. That is a dramatic leap in passing play percentage and has brought Williams’ rushing numbers down some. He has had below 70 rushing yards and zero touchdowns in each of the past two games.
Despite the decline in rushing productivity, Williams has had an uptick in receiving production over the past two weeks. Williams has never been a top option catching the ball out of the backfield but his targets and yards have increased substantially over the past three games. He has been targeted 16 times across the past three games and has at least 19 receiving yards in all three of those games. That would take him well over his receiving prop for this game against New England which is set at o/u 14.5 receiving yards.
The numbers indicate that Matthew Stafford and the Rams will continue with a pass-heavy approach this week. The matchup against New England also indicates that. The Patriots’ defense is 19th in EPA/rush but 28th in EPA/pass. They have been beaten through the air all season and that works perfectly for what the Rams want to do. With the amount of respect that needs to be paid to Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, Kyren Williams should be available for the check-downs from Matthew Stafford. That will allow Williams to clear his 14.5 receiving yards for the fourth straight week.
