Here are Christian McCaffrey’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 82.5 rushing yards, o/u 4.5 receptions and o/u 34.5 receiving yards. McCaffrey is -240 to score a touchdown, +230 to score 2+ touchdowns and +260 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Christian McCaffrey made his return from injury against the Bucs last week for his first action of the season. He had a relatively quiet game running the ball with just 13 carries for 39 yards. However, he had a big game catching the ball out of the backfield with six catches for 68 yards. There were some questions about whether or not McCaffrey would be eased back into the offense but he was immediately thrust into his role as the main man in this offense. Among the San Francisco running backs, he had 13 out of the 15 carries and was the team’s second-leading receiver, by receptions, with six.
Seattle’s defense is 21st in the league in EPA/dropback and 22nd in EPA/rush. McCaffrey should be able to attack them on the ground and through the air. There was no adjustment period for Brock Purdy to get the ball back in McCaffrey’s hands through the air. He should see a healthy amount of targets again in this game and when he gets the ball in space he will rack up yardage. Despite only having 39 rushing yards, McCaffrey had a dominant amount of carries. Jordan Mason, who filled in for McCaffrey while he was out, only had one carry against the Bucs.
McCaffrey is similar to other top running backs like Bijan Robinson and Alvin Kamara where you know that they will make an impact but it’s hard to predict on a week-to-week basis whether it will be on the ground, through the air or both. That makes the best bet on Christian McCaffrey for this game to go over his rushing + receiving yards prop of 122.5. As the lead back, his rushing yards total should be way over the 39 he had last week and he should have another big receiving game as well. Seattle is an exploitable defense and McCaffrey should have a huge game after getting his legs back under him last week.
