The Spurs are finishing a back-to-back on the road in Dallas on Saturday after losing to the Lakers on Friday. They ruled out Devin Vassell for injury management and listed Victor Wembanyama ($11,100) as questionable. Wemby hasn’t missed a game this season, and his absence would open a ton of minutes and usage in the frontcourt for Zach Collins ($4,900) and Sandro Mamukelashvili ($3,800). In the backcourt without Vasell, Julian Champagnie has a chance to be a solid DFS value play on DraftKings while stepping into more work for the Spurs. Let’s break it down.

SG/SF Julian Champagnie, San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks ($4,800)
Champagnie has started all 13 games for the Spurs this season, playing 28.5 minutes per game with a 15.5% usage rate resulting in just under nine field goal attempts per game. He has played the second-most minutes on the team
Champagnie has scored double-digit points and hit multiple three-pointers in six of his last seven games while playing the second-most minutes on the team behind only Wemby. He has averaged just 0.8 fantasy points per game during that stretch, but that still results in a solid 24.9 DraftKings points per game.
He had a season-high 21 points and 32.75 DraftKings points on the road against the Clippers at the start of that productive stretch and posted 24.75 and 24.0 DraftKings points in his two games earlier this week even with Vassell crowding his playing time.
Without Vassell threatening his playing time and usage, Champagnie should be a strong value play, and he will have a very high ceiling if Wemby ends up sitting out, leaving plenty of work for the rest of the rotation to carry.
