Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs ($11,300) — Made-up stats are the best thing about NBA DFS. Here’s a fun one – MUPA (“moo-puh”). My proprietary stat isn’t that original. It’s basic and laughable to the DFS nerds, but the nerds don’t read these blurbs. It’s a simple calculation of MPG, Usage Rate, Pace and Team Offensive Rating. Those are the only stats that matter. Doncic — as is always the case — ranks near the top. His MUPA is No. 2 in the NBA and in the 100th percentile.

Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz ($5,500) — Blowout losses have suppressed Huerter’s stats. The close games are a different story. The Kings have kept it close in two of the last three games. That’s largely due to Huerter’s play. He scored 41.3 DKFP on Nov. 10 and 43.5 on Nov. 15. DeMar DeRozan ($7,700) is questionable and Malik Monk ($5,400) is out. It’s a back-to-back but Huerter will have to get back at it with the lack of attack due to injuries.

Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors ($7,900) — It shouldn’t work but it does. Brown and Jayson Tatum make a talented tandem in real life. The combo shouldn’t work in DFS. They should cannibalize each other’s stats. That’s not the case this season. Tatum has a top-5 MUPA and Brown sits at seventh. His minutes and usage are both above the high water mark of 30. The Celtics aren’t the fastest team but they are efficient on offense (second).
Other Options — Jayson Tatum ($10,100), LeBron James ($10,400)

Kyle Filipowski, Utah Jazz at Sacramento Kings ($4,900) — Lauri Markkanen ($7,400) is questionable after an eye injury Thursday night. This could be more minutes and usage for Flip. The seven-foot rookie out of Duke started on Thursday and scored 27.25 DKFP. He played 23 and 25 minutes off the bench in the two games leading into that matchup. He scored 25.3 and 33 DKFP in those matchups.

Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks ($11,100) — Cry Havoc! Unleash the dogs of war! Victory for Victor. He has been set free. Wemby dropped fifty on Wednesday. Is he Antetokounmpo 2.0? The French Freak is following the same career trajectory as the Greek Freak but at an accelerated rate. The Spurs match up with their in-state rivals in a pace-up spot on Saturday night. College football may be the main attraction on Saturday but save a screen for Wemby and Luka.

Trey Lyles, Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz ($3,800) — DraftKings could not get too aggressive with Lyles’ NBA DFS salary on Friday’s two-game late-night slate. This is a back-to-back for the Kings, so his salary was set before Friday’s results. He’s scored 17.5, 20 and 25.25 DKFP in the last three games. His minutes are trending up as is his scoring.
