The 9-3 Phoenix Suns have potentially hit a speed bump in their third-seed start to the season with Kevin Durant sidelined due to a calf injury. The third co-star in the desert, Bradley Beal, has also struggled with injuries so far this campaign.
Devin Booker must step up in the absence of his teammates. The elite scorer is averaging 23.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.8 assists so far, but will have to carry the load as the lone Suns star left standing.

For Friday’s contest between the Suns and Thunder, Booker’s lines are currently set at 27.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers on DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Thunder are 10-2 and an overwhelming force for most teams. They sit first in the Western Conference, though they are severely short-handed tonight with Alex Caruso, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Chet Holmgren all out. Still, OKC is a great squad with plenty of firepower behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams still healthy.
Booker averages 24 points in three games without Durant this season. In those contests, he’s taken 22, 20, and 16 shots, so expect him to take plenty of shots tonight. As the main man in Phoenix, the offense will flow through Booker tonight. The value in over 27.5 points (-110) is very similar to the under (-120), so bettors can take their pick based on how confident they are in Booker’s ability to turn volume into production.
The Suns star is listed +200 to lead the game in points, as well as +400 to lead the game in three-pointers. Either of these could provide great value at plus-odds if they were to hit, which Booker has a chance to do.
Booker’s AST + REB O/U line is also appealing. It’s set at 10.5, with the over -130 and the under at +100. The over on this could provide some value despite being favored by such an amount. Booker has been involved as a passer, and while his rebounding totals aren’t eye-popping, he does pull in several per game.
