Week 11 Start or Sit: Javonte Williams or Audric Estime?

Week 11 Start or Sit: Javonte Williams or Audric Estime?

The Broncos’ run game has struggled all season—they rank 20th in rush yards per game—so the team decided to give Audric Estime ($4,500) a long look this past Sunday vs. the Chiefs. In Denver’s near upset over Kansas City, the rookie out of Notre Dame rushed 14 times – including two redzone carries – for 53 yards and played 44.8% of the snaps. This resulted in a 82.4% rush share for Estime, as Williams ($5,700) only saw one carry in the loss. The latter was one more productive in the passing game, catching both of his targets for targets for six yards, while Estime didn’t see one target, but Williams only ran more route than Estime overall.

While a small sample, Estime has been a far more effective rusher than Williams this season, averaging 5.1 YPC, compared to 3.8 for Williams. Coming off the near upset over the undefeated Chiefs, the Broncos should continue to deploy Estime as their primary rusher this week, with Williams operating as more of a change of pace back in the receiving game.

Estime gets a strong matchup vs. the Falcons this Sunday, who have given up the third-most yards per rush over the last three weeks (4.8) and with Denver a 2.5-point home favorite on the DraftKings Sportsbook, they could rely on their run game in this spot, meaning Estime could be in store for 15-20 carries.

His lack of usage in the receiving game is concerning, but Estime has solid upside in this spot that sets up for well for him and the rookie is a far better gamble to embrace than Williams for all formats this week.
