The Week 11 edition of Thursday Night Football sees the 7-2 Eagles host the 7-3 Commanders with first place in the NFC East on the line. The Eagles are 3.5-point favorites over the Commanders with a total of o/u 48.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Commanders at Eagles Pick6 Plays
The Commanders are having an incredible season with their rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels. Despite losing to the Steelers last week, they are off to an amazing 7-3 start with their losses coming in Daniels’ first-career start and then to the Ravens and Steelers, two of the best teams in the league. Meanwhile, the Eagles are off to a fantastic 7-2 start and they have won five straight games. They have one of the most explosive offenses in football and their young defense is improving every week. This should be a great game with the winner moving into first place in the NFC East.
Here are my top Pick6 plays for the Thursday night NFC East matchup.
Dallas Goedert More Than 30.5 Receiving Yards
Dallas Goedert returned from injury last week against the Cowboys and got in the end zone. It was limited action for Goedert in his first game back, where the Eagles had a comfortable lead and rested a lot of their starters late in the game. There was no need to push Goedert but he made a big impact in the limited snaps he played. In this massively important game, Goedert should play a much bigger role.
Prior to his injury, Goedert played in the first four games of the season. In all four of those games, Goedert cleared this number of 30.5 receiving yards, averaging over 75 receiving yards per game. The Washington defense is 24th in EPA/pass and 24th in passing success rate. They have struggled to contain opposing offenses all year and with the attention that they will need to pay to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, as well as the run game, Goedert could be the one running free through the defense.
C.J. Gardner-Johnson Less Than 3.5 Solo Tackles
The Eagles defense is improving as the season goes along but this number is inflated on Gardner-Johnson. He has only had four or more solo tackles in three out of nine games this season. He has more games with zero solo tackles this year than he does with five or more solo tackles. Overall, he averages just 2.4 solo tackles per game.
Also, among qualified quarterbacks, Jayden Daniels is 18th in the league in air yards per pass. That means fewer deep shots where a safety like Gardner-Johnson would be making tackles. The Washington offense is also a run-heavy offense where Gardner-Johnson would be the last line of defense or, best case, involved in a gang tackle rather than picking up solo tackles.
Saquon Barkley More Than 95.5 Rushing Yards
Saquon Barkley has been a monster on the ground this season. He is second to only Derrick Henry in rushing yards this year and has cleared 100 rushing yards in three of his past four games. He didn’t clear that number last week but that’s because he only had 14 carries. He got a lot of rest on Sunday because of the Eagles’ comfortable lead over the Cowboys, which gives him a huge advantage on Thursday night.
The Commanders’ defense will be sore and tired after playing a physical and emotional game against the Steelers on Sunday. With only four days rest, most players are not as physical on Thursday night, but Barkley will be completely fresh and can set the physical tone. He should get a lot of action against a Washington defense that is 28th in rushing yards allowed per game.
Jalen Hurts More Than 41.5 Rushing Yards
Jalen Hurts should also have a big game on the ground. The Commanders are yet to have a bye week and, after ten straight weeks of action, they are now playing on a Thursday night on the road against a relatively fresh team. The Eagles have a great offensive line and they should be able to push this Commanders defense, which is 27th in EPA/rush. Hurts has been really dangerous with his legs the past two weeks, totaling two of his three biggest running games of the season. He had 56 rushing yards against Dallas last week and 67 rushing yards against Jacksonville the week before. The threat of Saquon Barkley allows the Eagles to run zone-read concepts that open up big windows for Hurts to keep the ball himself and pick up chunk yardage. In two of the past three weeks, the Commanders allowed Daniel Jones and Caleb Williams to clear this number and Hurts should, as well.
Jake Elliott Less Than 7.5 Kicking Points
Jake Elliott is not having his best season for the Eagles. Elliott is 0-for-3 on field goals of 50-plus yards, which has led to Nick Sirianni being more aggressive on fourth-down decisions. In order to clear this number, a kicker likely needs to make two field goals. If Elliott only makes one field goal, he would need to kick five extra points, which he has not done all season, to get to eight kicking points.
Elliott is averaging just 1.33 made field goals per game and that should continue on Thursday. The Commanders’ defense is 30th in red zone scoring percentage, allowing their opponent to score touchdowns on 70% of their red zone trips. The Eagles’ offense is also in the top ten in the league in red zone touchdown scoring percentage. Sirianni should be aggressive and keep the offense on the field from long range and, once inside the red zone, the Eagles should convert for touchdowns, keeping Elliott on the sideline.
Jayden Daniels Less Than 0.5 Interceptions Thrown
Jayden Daniels’ best trait through the first half of his rookie season has been mistake avoidance. His explosive play rate and air yards have not been as high, but those things have been sacrificed to make sure Daniels isn’t hurting the team with mistakes. Kliff Kingsbury has done a great job of making this offense easy for Daniels. The Commanders love to run the ball and have that run game set up play-action and RPO looks for Daniels. In those situations, Daniels can often just hit his first read.
Even when Daniels scrambles around and makes plays with his legs, he has done a great job of throwing the ball away when nothing is available. Daniels has just two interceptions through ten games and has gone five straight games without throwing one. Daniels showed against Pittsburgh that even with an elite pass rush coming after him, he can still maintain his poise and avoid big mistakes. Daniels should keep that streak going in this game and avoid an interception.
