A.J. Brown has played a big role in the Eagles’ 7-2 start to the season. He dealt with an injury early on in the season that sidelined him for several games. Since returning, Brown has been the big-play threat for the Eagles. In the six games he has played, Brown is averaging 92 yards per game and 19.8 yards per catch. Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts have been incredibly effective in the run game which in turn causes opposing defenses to have to cheat towards the line of scrimmage with their safeties and linebackers. That has opened up the deep shots to A.J. Brown for Jalen Hurts.
Brown’s longest reception prop is 28.5 yards for this game against the Commanders. Brown has had a reception of 40+ yards in four out of six games this year and has cleared 28.5 yards in five out of six games. Brown can create separation but more importantly, he can beat out any corner in the league on a 50/50 jump ball down the sideline. He had one of those against the Cowboys last week that went for 44 yards.
This is also a good matchup for Brown against Washington. The Commanders’ defense is 24th in dropback EPA and dropback success rate. They are also 22nd in yards per passing attempt allowed. The Eagles are tied for the most 40+ yard completions in the NFL this season. Jalen Hurts should be able to hit at least one deep shot to A.J. Brown in this game against a vulnerable secondary. Therefore, my best prop bet for A.J. Brown is the over 28.5 yards for his longest reception.
