Celtics 1H TT OVER 57.5 (-115) – 1-unit
This has been close to an auto-play for me this season. The Celtics did stay under the first half number in three straight games, but broke out of the slump with a late surge against the Hawks to improve to 7-5 on the season to the over on the first half team total. However, the Celtics did ultimately lose that NBA Cup game at home to the Hawks as 16-point favorites, so I expect them to come out sharp on the second night of this back-to-back.
The Nets played the Celtics well on Friday night in Boston, and will have revenge on their minds after an overtime loss. But Brooklyn’s defense didn’t seem to be the issue on Friday, the Celtics just missed a lot of shots, particularly early. Over the last two games, the Nets have given up 57 first half points to the Cavs and 56 to the Pelicans. This is a low number for the Celtics, so I won’t pass it up.
Neemias Queta OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-115) – 1-unit
Al Horford has been ruled out for the Celtics, which without Kristaps Porzingis means a combination of Queta, Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman. Despite Queta getting a couple of starts last week, Joe Mazzulla switched Tillman into the starting five on Friday against the Nets. It didn’t work out, as Boston got out to a slow start and Tillman only played the first six minutes of the game.
Queta came off the bench against the Nets and ripped down a season-high 10 boards in 27 minutes. Assuming he draws the start, this would be a play for me at 7.5. I think it’s also a fine play if Queta comes off the bench, but if that’s the case, we should see the number go down. For that reason, I’m going to say hold off on this one until we get starting lineups from the Celtics. At that point we can jump in at a better number if Queta comes in off the bench, or fire on this number. It won’t go up if he does get announced the starter, but it’ll be a 1-unit play either way.
