Scotty Pippen Jr. OVER 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115) – 1-unit

Let’s start by airing out a frustration here. I misspell this kid’s name every time I type it, but the reason is ridiculous. Obviously, this is the son of Scottie Pippen, who spells his name ending in “ie”, so why the heck does his son’s name end in “y” is he’s a Jr.? Welp, apparently Sr. didn’t like the spelling of his name, and chose to spell it “Scottie,” but his son is “Scotty” is still a Jr. because that’s how his dad’s birth name is spelled. There’s your fun fact of that day. I will continue to spell his name wrong and go back and edit it every time. Now let’s try and make some money.

Pippen says that he’s “had this game circled” returning to Los Angeles for the first time since being released by the team that he started his NBA career with. Nothing like a little revenge narrative to fuel an already good spot for Pippen to put up some numbers. Honestly, I’m not so sure why Pippen is making a big deal of it, he did play the Lakers last week putting up a 14-6-4 line. That would’ve cashed the over on this number, and it was with Ja Morant played 24 minutes in that game.

I’m expecting a large role for the entirety of the game here from Pippen, as both Morant and Desmond Bane are confirmed out. Marcus Smart, who has been out since October, is questionable to return, but his status doesn’t change my angle here. In game Morant has missed this season, Pippen has finished with lines of 14-10-4 vs. the Bulls, 11-11-10 vs. the Wizards and then 17-4-2 at Portland. However, that last one was a blowout in which Pippen played just 21 minutes.

Look for Pippen to see closer to 30 minutes in this one, and continue to produce while playing with a chip on his shoulder.
