On paper, we should have one of the best games of the week. But scissors slice through paper and paper can also be crumpled up and thrown into the trash. Plus, it’s a Thursday night island game, so weird stuff often happens.
That said, Washington and Philadelphia are 1 and 2 in Rush EPA. Philadelphia has the 3rd-best offensive line according to PFF while Washington is at 8. Both teams also possess two of the most dynamic rushing quarterbacks in the league.
In terms of passing, Washington is 2nd in Total EPA while Philadelphia is 11th.
Washington scored over 30 points in four of the first seven games, but have failed to reach that mark in the last three contests. Jayden Daniels has been banged up and it’s possible the league may have adjusted. We shall see.
Philadelphia has gone over 30 points twice in the last three games, but it’s been the defense that has been suffocating. Since the bye in Week 5, only one team has scored over 20 points.
DraftKings Sportsbook has PHI -3.5 at home with the game total at 48.5.
As for Wednesday’s injury report, there is no one of significance. Stay informed on the most recent updates at DK LIVE.

Captain’s Picks
Jalen Hurts ($16,500 CP): Hurts started the season slowly, failing to exceed 20 FPTS in three of the first four games. After the Week 5 bye, though, he’s gone over 20 FPTS in every game with two over 30. He’s thrown a touchdown in all of those contests with three of those games with two. But what gives Hurts an enticing floor/ceiling combo is the Tush Push and scrambling prowess. Hurts has rushed at least seven times in the last five games with three of those contests in double-digits. He’s scored eight rushing touchdowns!
UTIL Plays
Jayden Daniels ($10,400): Daniels rushed at least 10 times in four of the first five games. Then he suffered a rib injury, and he’s rushed three, eight, eight and three times over the last four games. Pittsburgh was masterful in limiting Daniels to three rushes for five yards last week. Do the Eagles have the proper personnel and scheme to replicate? We shall see, but if Washington has any chance in this game, it will be from both the arm and legs of Daniels.
Zach Ertz ($5,600): Ertz doesn’t have much of a ceiling, as he’s scored only once this season and hasn’t exceeded 77 yards receiving. That said, he’s garnered eight and 11 targets in two of the last three games with two red zone looks.
Saquon Barkley ($10,600): Barkley is coming off an 8.8-FPTS game, his second sub-10 FPTS game of the season. He rushed only 14 times for 66 yards against a porous Cowboys defense, but I believe there were times when Dallas utilized Bear fronts to stop Barkley. That could be replicated, but I’m not sure the Commanders have the secondary to do it. We shall see. That said, Barkley has a slate-breaking upside, with two games over 35 FPTS this season. I want to corner the market on Eagles touchdowns. I can’t wait to cry when Kenneth Gainwell scores twice.
Fades
DeVonta Smith ($8,600): Smith leads the Eagles with 50 targets on the season, but that’s because AJ Brown missed three games. Since the bye, Smith has garnered four, two, seven, six and three targets. He’s exceeded 20 FPTS only twice this season.
THE OUTCOME
This game has a chance to be a barn-burner, as I think both offenses have success. Whether they score touchdowns is another matter. While I love what Daniels has done this season, his recent form and rib injury gives me pause to back that side. The Eagles are at home and the team is just humming along right now.
Final Score: Eagles 28, Commanders 24
