Week 11 of the NFL season has arrived! Injuries have thrown a wrench into multiple receiving corps around the league, so it’s time to take a deep dive into the position.
Let’s break down my Week 11 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football wide receiver picks.
Start ‘Em: Calvin Ridley (Titans) vs. Vikings
Seven weeks into the season, the Calvin Ridley signing looked like a bust for Tennessee.
Over the Titans’ last three games, he’s flipped the script. The big-play threat racked up at least 22 points in two of his last three outings. He’s been heavily featured across the last five games from a target share perspective, and now it’s translating to production. Ridley is fresh off his best game of the season against the Chargers, in which he racked up 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
This Sunday, he’ll look to keep the momentum rolling against the Vikings, who allow the third-most fantasy points to receivers.
Sit ‘Em: Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars) at Lions
After an electric start to his NFL career, Thomas has come back down to earth over the last few weeks.
The speedster hasn’t been involved much over his last three games, receiving a combined 11 targets. Eventually, that dip in volume will impact your fantasy production, which is exactly what happened in each of Jacksonville’s last two contests, as he recorded fewer than seven fantasy points.
It’s worth noting that the rookie was working with Mac Jones under center last Sunday, which is a situation that needs to be monitored throughout this week. That said, even if Trevor Lawrence is able to suit up, I’d temper expectations for Thomas against Detroit.

Start ‘Em: Courtland Sutton (Broncos) vs. Falcons
I’ve been on the Sutton start train for weeks now, and it feels like people are finally getting the memo.
After a bizarre outing against the Saints in which he wasn’t targeted at all, Bo Nix has made it a priority to get his best playmaker the ball. Sutton has scored at least 17 PPR points in three straight games, hauling in 15 of 30 targets over that span. He should continue to be heavily featured against the Falcons, who are surprisingly vulnerable against opposing receivers despite boasting plenty of talent in the secondary. As Bo Nix continues to gain confidence, Sutton will remain the primary beneficiary.
Sit ‘Em: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seahawks) at 49ers
It’s not often you recommend sitting a player who scored 37 points in his last outing, but that’s the case with Smith-Njigba.
The second-year receiver was stellar agains the Rams in DK Metcalf’s absence, but he should be relegated to his prior 2a/2b role alongside Tyler Lockett in the receiving corps if Metcalf returns to the lineup as expected.
The Niners’ secondary has really hit their stride too, allowing just 162 passing yards over their last three games (which ranks fourth across that span). A lot of signs are pointing down for JSN despite his career day against L.A.
