Young is the Alpha and Omega of the Hawks offense, averaging 23.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 11.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 36.5 minutes per game. The usage rate has dipped slightly from 30.5% last season to 29.6%, but that’s due to Quin Snyder diversifying the offense to take advantage of the gravity that Young garners.
Unfortunately for Atlanta, they will be without Young for Tuesday’s contest against the Boston Celtics. The official designation is right Achilles tendinitis.

Young dealt with a right Achilles issue last season and was one of the reasons why he played in only 54 games. This is the first time this season that the Achilles issue has surfaced. He did play 41 and 38 minutes in the most recent Friday/Saturday back-to-back set.
The Hawks are banged up in the backcourt with Kobe Bufkin and Bogdan Bogdanovic still nursing injuries, so Keaton Wallace will likely get the starting nod on Tuesday.
