Is it worth it to trade for Calvin Ridley in fantasy football?

With DeAndre Hopkins traded to the Chiefs, Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been unlocked and is back to being a terrific fantasy asset. In the Titans’ first three games since trading Hopkins to Kansas City, Ridley has been sensational with 21..4 DKFP per game, which ranks second among all receivers over the last three weeks. He trails only Ja’Marr Chase.

During this stretch, Ridley has been the undisputed top receiving option for the Titans. Ridley leads the entire NFL in target share at 36.4%, including five targets over 20 yards and three redzone targets. Before this, Ridley was seeing a much lower target share at 21.1% alongside Hopkins over their first six games of the season.

Overall, Ridley is averaging 0.34 FPTS per snap without Hopkins this season, which is a huge upgrade from the 0.16 he generated alongside his former teammate.

While it likely won’t be easy, attempting to trade for Ridley is a smart move right now. His success is likely to continue with the Titans seeing a soft schedule the rest of the way. Notably, for Weeks 16 and 17, which are the playoff semifinal and finals for most season-long fantasy leagues, Ridley faces the Colts and the Jaguars, who both rank inside the top-five in most yards per pass allowed this season.
