The Dallas Cowboys season is on life support. Dak Prescott is likely going to have season-ending surgery, and in his place, Cooper Rush threw for 45 yards before getting benched for Trey Lance in Week 10. Whether it’s Rush or Lance in Week 11, CeeDee Lamb’s ceiling is just not the same. If you can get good value for him in a trade, now might be the time to do it. In his first game without Prescott this season, he only caught six of 10 targets for 21 yards against the Eagles. Lamb has always relied on Prescott for success, and it’s hard for me to see Lamb as a true WR 1 without him. He was already having a down year for his standards, and in DraftKings Fantasy scoring he is ranked as the sixth-best receiver. That’s definitely not bad, but for someone with his ceiling, it could be better. Now without Prescott, it’s possible that he falls into WR 2 territory.
The jury is still very much out on Cooper Rush, who has a career 59.7% completion percentage and nine touchdown passes to six interceptions. The same could be said for Trey Lance, who has a career 55.6 completion percentage with five touchdowns to four interceptions. Both of these quarterbacks are unproven and getting rid of Lamb while you still can could prove to be a genius move at the end of the season. In addition, the sun is always a problem at the Cowboys stadium, and it actually cost Lamb a touchdown in the last game as he couldn’t see the ball. In my opinion, I think it’s time to sell now while he still has value.
