UPDATE: 12:02 p.m. ET: Malik Nabers has cleared the concussion protocol and is back in the game for the New York Giants.
This is obviously a massive relief for Nabers and Giants fans everywhere, as this wouldn’t have been Nabers’s first concussion in his rookie season. He would have been the second receiver in two weeks to get his second concussion of the year, joining Chris Olave of the Saints. Olave just landed on IR.
Nabers appears, thankfully, to have avoided any of that.
With around thirteen minutes left to go in the fourth quarter, New York Giants rookie superstar Malik Nabers appeared to fall awkwardly to the ground after making a first-down reception from Daniel Jones.
He was slow to get up, and helped off the field by an entourage of trainers. He’s now in the blue medical tent being evaluated for a concussion.
Before that catch, Nabers only had one reception for 12 yards on the day; the Giants’ offense has been struggling against an inspired Panthers secondary. Daniel Jones, also, threw an interception on a critical drive to end the first half.
