DraftKings Showdown Captain (CPT) Picks
Kyren Williams ($16,200)
Sean McVay’s 2024 philosophy has been clear: feed Kyren Williams the rock. The third-year pro has had over 20 carries in five of his eight contests, becoming one of the more featured backs in the league. It hasn’t been perfect, however. Williams is mustering just 3.7 yards per carry behind an offensive line, finally starting to get healthy.
His fantasy value correlates to his nose for the endzone. The Notre Dame product is on pace for a 20+ total touchdown campaign, crossing the goal line in all but his most recent outing.
He’s guaranteed to rack up the carries, regardless of how healthy the club’s pass catchers are. It might be a slow grind, but it’s one that’s made him a DFS must-start. Miami’s front seven is riddled with injuries and has been susceptible to getting gashed on the ground. Even with the attention he draws, his floor elevates him as a clear captain candidate.
Cooper Kupp ($14,700)
Cooper Kupp is ready to reclaim his throne as a fantasy cheat code. The former Triple Crown winner is still only 31 years old and has been a stud when in the lineup. In his three full games, he’s averaging around 23 fantasy points per showing. He’s a technical wizard working in the middle of the field, using elite footwork to garner consistent separation.
Meetings with Indianapolis and New England prop up the Miami secondary stats, but at best, they are a middling unit. Lockdown corner Jalen Ramsey won’t travel to the slot, and Kupp should feast in a must-win matchup for the Rams, who are vying for an NFC West title.
De’Von Achane ($14,100)
One of the few highlights of this disastrous Dolphins campaign is De’Von Achane solidifying his standing as a bonified RB1. The speedster has yet to surpass the century mark on the ground but has had three straight excellent all-purpose performances. Getting him the ball in space is almost unfair; between his wheels and lateral quickness, it takes multiple defenders to bring him down.
The Aaron-Donald-sized hole in the middle of the LA defensive line has been a minimized factor but is still weak enough to exploit. Coach Mike McDaniel wants to incorporate smash-mouth elements into his offensive system, and Achane is the prime beneficiary. He’s a weapon in the red zone, and with a healthy signal-caller lessening his burden, he has all the tools to have a monster night.
