DraftKings, your paradise of DFS nirvana, has done it again, with a new contest called NBA Starting 5. You select one point guard, one shooting guard, one small forward, one power forward and one center. There is no salary cap. The only stipulation is that you must select players from at least two different teams.
For Monday’s slate, there are five games.
As for injuries, Zion Williamson and Jordan Hawkins are out. Trey Murphy III is probable. Malaki Branham is questionable. Keep track of all the pertinent injury updates at DK Live.
HOU, OKC, SAC and WAS are playing the second leg of a back-to-back. None of the teams play on Tuesday.
DraftKings Sportsbook has CLE -7.5 on the road over CHI with the total at 236.5, the highest on the slate. BKN is -1 on the road over NO with the total at 213, the lowest on the slate. Point Guard
The shooting efficiency has been poor for James Harden, and the matchup is tough against one of the best defensive teams in the league (OKC), but Harden is garnering a 31.4 percent usage rate on the season and has been producing a cornucopia of counting stats. Harden has gone for over 50 FPTS five times this season with a high of 68.
Shooting Guard
Jalen Green has been rough from a fantasy perspective over the last four games, producing sub-30 FPTS in three of four contests. Previously, Green had put up over 40 FPTS in four of the first five games. I think he gets back to those 40-ways again, as the Wizards lead the NBA in pace and are 27th in defensive efficiency.
Small Forward
With Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray and CJ McCollum out for New Orleans, Brandon Ingram is at the top of the offensive totem pole. He should garner as much usage as he can handle. Ingram has five games over 40 FPTS this season with two over 50.
Power Forward
Evan Mobley has leveled up in his fourth NBA season. He’s always been a beast on defense, but now he’s an imposing offensive force. Some of the credit goes to his hard work and development, but coach Kenny Atkinson has put him in positions to succeed. The Cavs lead the league in offensive efficiency, and Mobley is a big reason why. Mobley has two games over 50 FPTS this season with only two below 30.
Center
Domantas Sabonis may not have access to the potential ceiling of Victor Wembanyama, but the floor is higher and he can still put up robust fantasy points. He’s essentially a lock to contribute double-digit points and rebounds. Due to his passing ability and role in the offense, the assists are voluminous. The only thing he doesn’t do is block shots, but whatever. Sabonis has scored over 40 FPTS in every game this season with two over 60.

- The Fantasy Sports NBA Starting 5 Game Style is a type of contest in which participants draft lineups by selecting one point guard, one shooting guard, one small forward, one power forward and one center. NBA Starting 5 is scored the same way as classic NBA DFS contests.
