Despite having the worst weapons in the league, Maye’s found a way to keep his unit afloat when under center. The UNC product has had a 70% completion rate in both of his last full games, picking apart the Jacksonville and Tennessee secondaries. New England lacks a vertical threat and anyone who can consistently generate separation, so Maye has done most of his damage close to the line of scrimmage.
At this point, it doesn’t matter who is running routes—Maye is a specimen and can deliver the ball on a rope to anyone on the field. His gunslinger background can get him in trouble at times, but it’s been the catalyst for elevating this dreadful supporting cast. Maye’s surpassed this line in his three full outings, and despite Chicago’s solid pass defense, he’s talented enough to get over the finish line.
Drake Maye 50+ Rushing Yards (+290)
Not only has he flashed a cannon arm, but the magic with his legs has been tantalizing. He’s sneaky fast, and although he’s more of a straight-line runner, he’s twitchy enough to make defenders miss in space and fight for extra yards. Maye scampered for 95 yards a week ago, routinely getting to the edge when the pocket collapsed. He’s a physical marvel that the coaching staff must utilize better to put points on the board.
Chicago has a ferocious pass rush, which should increase Maye’s chances of scrambling to find success. He would’ve hit this line in consecutive games if he hadn’t left the contest against New York with a concussion. Don’t expect to get this play at such a value for much longer. Maye should crush this if he stays healthy.
