The Phoenix Suns are off to a red-hot start to the season. They have opened up with an 8-1 record and are tied for the best record in the Western Conference.
Unfortunately, the team has hit their first signs of turmoil as Kevin Durant is the latest name to land on the NBA injury report. The star forward suffered a left calf strain in Friday night’s 114-113 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Durant is off to an MVP-caliber start to the season. The 14-time All-Star is averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game through the opening nine games.
The Phoenix superstar has dealt with calf and lower leg issues throughout his career so expect the Suns to be cautious with the 36-year-old. He will leave a huge void on both sides of the ball and force the Suns to carry on without him.
The Suns’ superstar trio has looked like a cohesive unit to start the year, far beyond what they showed last season, but Devin Booker and Bradley Beal will have more responsibility Durant’s absence.
More information will be added as it is reported.
