Hurts is sixth among qualified quarterbacks in EPA+CPOE composite. He has not put up huge yardage, ranking 20th in the league in passing yards, but he hasn’t needed to. This team is winning games using Hurts and Barkley’s legs and only requiring Hurts to make easy throws to avoid mistakes.
The Eagles have done a good job of taking early leads and then sitting on the ball this season. The Eagles have won four straight games by dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. They should come with the same approach against Dallas where they have a massive advantage. The Eagles are 4th in offensive EPA/rush and the Cowboys are 32nd in defensive EPA/rush. It will be a run-first approach for the Eagles and with the lack of offense that the Cowboys will have without Dak Prescott, Philadelphia should totally control the game and take an early lead. They will then continue to run the ball to control the game and time of possession. That will lead to another game where Hurts stays under his pass attempts prop.
