George Pickens is having a great season with the Steelers. He is 17th in the league in receiving yards despite the Steelers switching quarterbacks in the middle of the season. The quarterback switch has been good for George Pickens so far. In two games with Russell Wilson at the helm, Pickens has combined for 9 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown. Now the Steelers go into this game against Washington off a bye week which has only given Pickens and Wilson more time to gel and work on their timing.
Pickens has an incredible combination of speed and size which has made him a deep play threat. He has had long catches for 43 yards and 44 yards in the last two games since Wilson took over. Even before that, Pickens had a catch for 27 yards or more in six out of eight games this season. That puts a lot of value on his longest reception prop of 25.5 yards in this game against Washington. The Commanders have played shootouts all year and this game should be the same.
Washington’s defense is 24th in EPA/play and 20th in EPA/dropback. Russell Wilson should be able to throw on this secondary and hit at least one, likely multiple, deep shots to George Pickens. Pickens has the size to catch a 50/50 jump ball on a deep shot or to catch one on the move and run for a huge chunk after the catch. That makes him so dangerous to opposing defenses and gives him so many different paths to hit this prop number.
