The Dolphins don’t play until Monday Night Football, when they visit the Rams to put a bow on Week 10. but a new injury to WR Tyreek Hill ($10,000 in Showdown) definitely deserves monitoring heading into the weekend.
On Friday, Hill was added to the injury report with a wrist injury and did not practice. On Saturday, here’s what coach Mike McDaniel had to say about it:
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is dealing with a wrist injury that is “heating up” and has forced him to miss practice time.
HC Mike McDaniel told local reporters “if his body lets him, we’ll see” so there is some uncertainty on Tyreek’s availability for Monday vs. Rams.

There still aren’t many details yet on what exactly the injury is, how it happened or how severe it is.
Tyreek Hill’s potential
Hill has not yet really hit his stride since the return of Tua Tagovailoa ($9,200), but he did have a total of 10 catches for 152 yards over the last two weeks since Tua’s return. Prior to that, he really struggled with Tyler Huntley and Skyler Thompson filling in for Tua.
On the year, Hill is averaging only 11.4 fantasy points per game and has scored just one touchdown, but he always brings the potential for big plays and there huge games. This matchup with the Rams would be a great one for him to break out if he’s healthy enough to play at full strength on Monday night.
He will be a Captain’s Pick option to consider based on his high ceiling for DFS contests like the NFL $1.25M Monday Night Showdown [$300K to 1st] (MIA @ LAR).
What if Tyreek Hill misses Week 10?
While we still don’t have details, it’s worth considering who would get the extra work if Hill ends up out this week. De’Von Achane ($9,400) is already very involved as a receiver out of the backfield but could get more looks, but the main beneficiary would be Jaylen Waddle ($6,600).
Waddle would be a strong start in season-long formats if he’s clearly the WR 1 for the Dolphins this week, and he’d also be a good Captain’s Pick consideration. Last week, Waddle had two catches for -4 yards but did score a touchdown to still manage 7.6 fantasy points. All his negative yardage came from a 23-yard loss on the game’s final play, as he got the ball on a lateral and ran backward to keep the play alive.
Jonnu Smith ($4,400) has also been very involved the last few weeks. He has at least four catches in four straight games 12.3 fantasy points per game. He’s a fringe starter anyway, but with Hill out, he becomes locked in as a starter in standard-sized leagues.
Odell Bekcham Jr. ($2,400) hasn’t made much of an impact yet but did have his first three catches of the season last week in his fourth game for the Dolphins. He’d step into a larger role with Hill out as well.
The bottom line
The Dolphins are 1-point underdogs in Los Angeles on Monday Night Football this week. Tyreek Hill is +120 to score a touchdown while Jaylen Waddle is just behind him at +130. Smith is -120 to have over 3.5 catches and +165 to have 50+ receiving yards. If Hill ends up sidelined, those numbers seem very attainable vs. the Rams
The key at this point is to keep a close eye out for updates on Hill as we head into the weekend. We’ll update this post and keep you up to date on all hte latest injury news on the DKNetwork account on X.
