Celtics 1H Team Total OVER 60.5 (-112) – 1.5-units
Entering Wednesday’s loss to the Warriors, the Celtics were averaging just shy of 67 points per game in the first half. Even missing key pieces like Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis, this offense has been humming. However, the Warriors are off to a terrific defensive start this season, and really held Boston in check in Wednesday’s primetime matchup.
The C’s managed just 40 points in the first half, including a scoreless stretch of nearly seven minutes. That doesn’t happen often to this team, and I think off the frustrating loss, Boston will be ready to go at home on Friday night. The Warriors are probably the toughest matchup Boston could have defensively at the moment, compared to a pretty average Nets team defensively.
This play is always more about what the Celtics are capable of doing rather than the opponent, and with the first half team total at 6-3 to the over this season, I’ll continue to ride it. Wednesday was an outlier performance, and probably gets us a slight discount here in this game.
