The Cowboys have a critical matchup against the Eagles in Week 10, and they’re in line to have their star wide receiver return to the field for the game.
CeeDee Lamb was a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice as he dealt with a shoulder issue. It seems that Lamb will be ready to play against his division rivals on Sunday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Lamb suffered a sprained AC joint.
“My shoulder is much better than it was on Sunday, I’ll tell you that,” Lamb said. “I feel like I’ve taken a big step these last 2-3 days. I’m good. I was out there running today.”
Lamb suffered his shoulder injury during Sunday’s loss against the Falcons on the road. It was a disastrous Week 9 for Dallas who not only lost its third straight game but also lost Dak Prescott to injury as well.
Prescott is likely going to miss a few weeks with a hamstring injury, so he won’t suit up against the Eagles in Week 10. That not only hurts the Cowboys’ chances at winning against the Eagles, but it certainly makes an even greater mess of their season.
Dallas is 3-5 and third place in the NFC East. Without Prescott, the team is significantly weaker. Cooper Rush is the starting quarterback in the veteran’s absence.
As for Lamb, his value is low this week. While Lamb is an excellent talent, he’s not set up for success. The Eagles allow just the seventh least passing yards to opposing teams this season and will face a career backup quarterback in Rush. Lamb does have full range of motion in his shoulder, but he is still in pain, so that could slow him down a bit, too.
