The Bills have a chance to be very thin on pass catchers this Sunday vs. the Colts. Cooper ($5,800; wrist) missed last week and was a limited participant Thursday, and Coleman ($5,500, wrist/hand) was a DNP at this practice session. If both of these wideouts or even just one of them sits, Kincaid ($4,900) will in a prime position to have his best outing of the season.
With Cooper out and Coleman active last week, Kincaid racked up a season-high ten targets with a 27.8% target share. The tight end only converted four of those looks into 32 yards, but this was against a stingy Dolphins’ defense that is giving up the 12th-fewest yards per pass (6.4). Kincaid is in a much better spot this Sunday, with the Colts allowing the sixth-most yards per pass (7.2). Furthermore, Indianapolis uses zone coverage at the highest rate in the league, which tremendous news for Kincaid.
During his NFL career, 75% of Kincaid’s receiving yards, 79% of his catches and all four of his touchdowns have come against zone coverage.
Kincaid could erupt in this spot if one of Cooper or Coleman are inactive, and he is a strong play even if both end up being active.
