UPDATE 10:09 p.m. ET: Morant had returned to the bench, but then went back to the locker room earlier. He has now been designated as doubtful to return.
With around 3:50 left in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Lakers, Ja Morant screamed down the court for a fast break. When he reached the middle of the paint, he activated his flea-like hops and zoomed up for an alley-oop. Unfortunately, he not only did not convert but got undercut by a defender, forcing him to land awkwardly. He then made his way to the locker room.
Prior to exiting, Morant contributed 20 points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in 24 minutes.
