If Nico Collins returns in Week 10, is Tank Dell still a must-start?

Nico Collins (hamstring) has missed four games in a row, but the wideout has suffered no setbacks and has passed all physical tests with his hamstring, per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. It has yet to be determined if Collins will play this Sunday night vs. the Lions, but all signs are pointing towards his return.

Collins leads the Texans with a 24.7% target share this season — including seven red zone targets in five games — and his presence is going to bump Tank Dell down the depth chart and make him the Texans’ No. 2 receiver. However, that is still a valuable role with Stefon Diggs (knee) done for the season, who owned a 23.8% target share before he got hurt.

With Diggs in Buffalo last season, Collins and Dell were the Texans’ top two wideouts, and Dell handled a 21.6% target share as second option behind Collins. Dell scored over 20 FPTS in four of his 11 starts and he produced a solid 0.21 FPTS per snap with this role.

Dell remains a strong option even Collins returns and this Sunday Night Football matchup with the Lions is an appealing spot. This game’s total is set at a high 49 points and the Texans are 3.5-point underdogs on the DraftKings Sportsbook, which should translate into a pass heavy game plan for Houston. Detroit is giving up the most catches and second-most receiving yards to receivers this season, and Dell remains a must-start for season long leagues. He is also an appealing DFS option, as some may overlook him if Collins is active.
