NFL Week 10 Start or Sit: Jaylen Waddle

NFL Week 10 Start or Sit: Jaylen Waddle

Published:

By: Ciaran Doyle

Jaylen Waddle’s 2024 season started off hot, with him recording five catches for 109 yards in Week 1. Since then, it’s been all downhill, as he has yet to record 50 yards or more in any of the seven games since. Waddle is coming off his worst game of the year in Week 9 against the Bills where he had two catches for -4 yards on two targets.

So where do we go from here? Waddle and the Dolphins have a great matchup in Week 10 where they will face a Rams squad that ranks 23rd in the NFL against the pass. Despite the great matchup this week, I do believe it’s time to sit Jaylen Waddle. He has dropped to third on the team in targets and receptions behind Tyreek Hill and Jonnu Smith.

In the three games since the Dolphins’ bye week, Waddle has totaled 7 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. This kind of production is just not good enough for a player of his standards, and I think it is time to bench him until he turns things around from a fantasy perspective.

In terms of DraftKings fantasy scoring, he is the 65th-ranked receiver, only averaging 8.6 FPTS per game. If you can still get some decent value for Waddle, it might be time to sell so he doesn’t waste space on your bench. It may be harsh, but a player of his quality should not be producing so little. It has been two weeks since his starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa returned to the field, and nothing has changed. Bench or trade Waddle if you can.
